What are the lodging options at Camp Chingachgook? The camp is a youth camp, so our cabins and yurts are rustic with heated and unheated choices. With one exception, Rockwell, there are no toilets in the cabins. The beds are bunk beds and single beds.
When filling the cabins during the registration process, we will attempt to cap the occupancy of each cabin at the number of bottom bunks and single beds. However, if more people opt for heated cabins, the number of people per heated cabin will grow to the full capacity of the cabin.
There are 6 unheated lakeside cabins and 9 unheated cabins and yurts in closer proximity to the other cabins and yurts. If you wish a semi-private accommodation, you should opt for one of the unheated Lakeside cabins.
Note: The cabins are not accessible by car so you must carry in your gear or use a wheelbarrow to move your gear to your cabin.
Can I stay in my tent?
Yes, there are three areas for camping: the lawn in front of the Lakeside cabins, the lawn in the Brookside area, and the soccer field at the far end of the camp. These are open, treeless areas.
